Kara Zor-El enters the Nexus looking tired. She no longer wore the white gown she had worn when meeting other people earlier. Now she wore a white blouse, a red skirt and knee socks that she had gotten from a new friend. She still carries the red, blue and yellow blankets that she brought with her to earth. She looked tired and decides to ask her first question. "How would you go about finding a long lost Kryptonian relative in a world that is so large? I've only spent a day on earth and it seems so very big that I don't think I will ever find Kal-El... if he even survived his journey many years ago how would I recognize him? We've never even met." |

For everyone on my list I really, really think you should all have a look at this (if you haven’t already).
Special note goes out to Karcy and Ela. Also to all women, attached or not, and all the men, the same for you. The in-betweens, I’d like you all to have a read too!

[Nanowrimo 2009] Excerpt: Scaring self Was writing this in a darkened room (my bedroom) on Q10 when my word war alarm beeped and I jumped. Here, have a laugh:
Ta’Lern turned the door’s knob. To his surprise, it turned easily. He looked up at Raishan in surprise. Now they both knew something was wrong; Marissa always locked the door, mainly because it gave her that extra warning time when Renami’s visits were imminent. Though it had been years since they had met, she did it anyway. And she would have never left the door unanswered for this long either. The two brothers came to a consensus fairly quickly; Ta’Lern kicked the door opened.
The smell assaulted them.
Air escaped from the confines of the house out into the open, bringing with it the smell of rotting flesh and so much more. It was at least five days old. Even before their eyes adjusted to the darkness, Ta’Lern and Raishan knew what they would find, having been brought up to kill and on the battlefields. The only question was whose bodies were there.
“Annwn, they’re dead,” Raishan took out a handkerchief and covered his nose.
He followed Ta’Lern in. Stopping by the frame of the door, he used the edge of the gun to switch on the lights. The lights flickered and then came to life. As they did, he heard skitterings in front of him and realised what it was.
There were rodents and other stuff on the floor. Blood was everywhere, on the walls, on the floors, and on the furniture. It looked like someone had tried to pain the hallway red using the blood from the three bodies on the floor. They had been clawed to death, innards, limbs, everything was everywhere.
Annwn did not step in, but merely watched from where she was. She made a retching sound; the siblings were still not used to smelling such rotteness no matter how many times they were exposed to it. It was not something to be proud of.
“Three days,” Ta’Lern was squatting down to one of the three bodies. He was examining the woman closest to them.
It looked like a man and woman had been fleeing from the door when it caught them. From the moment of impact, they were dead. Their backs faced them, their spines exposed. Just to be sure, Ta’Lern used the edge of his gun to turn the woman over. The grotesques and bloated face of Marissa was looking at them. Her eyes were closed though, and Ta’Lern pointed to her neck; she had been killed by a snapped neck, which was a quick and painless death at least.
Raishan walked over to his brother, using his boots to turn the body next to the female over onto his back. This one had a look of horror on his face, with his eyes bulging out. In front, there was a slash across his neck, but from experience, they knew it was not enough to kill a person. No, that one had been for torture.
If the wounds on the front of the man was any indication, he had suffered long. Raishan could not say that he was unhappy about it. The chain the man wore was Renami’s favourite. His coat was tattered, and there were self-defense wounds all over him; Renami had fought for his life.

In walks Randi once again, clad in the very same armor he bought from Tida the last time he was here, and not looking particularly happy. Recently, along with the girl Purim and the sprite Popoi, he has fought his way to Elinee's Castle to save Purim's fiancé, the soldier Dyluck, and get the once good witch Elinee to remove the seal blocking the way into the Earth Temple. Of course, that didn't quite go to plan... Dyluck was teleported to the strange ruins south of Pandora, and Elinee's magic faded, leaving her unable to remove the seal. ...And now, something's wrong at the Water Temple on top of that. All this leaves Randi to ask his question... "I just..." A sigh. "I really have to wonder, sometimes... what's going to go wrong now?" Current Mood: pessimistic |

[Nanowrimo 2009] Helpless Dedicated to Alys of LJ. :p
Sakae closed his eyes and let the Fox God’s long fingers gently carress his scalp. It felt good to simply relax and not think. He should be thinking, but he could not remember why. It was important and had to do with someone important in his life, but he could not remember why.
For long minutes he simply lay on the Fox God’s lap, soaked in a spell-induced blissful state. Inari’s hands were very gentle, touching the boy on his shoulder, running his fingers through his hair, and once, for a few minutes, holding his hand. The boy had squeezed it, as though in thanks.
“By the Creator I could eat this one up,” Inari thought to himself as he made the boy sit up, then undid the belt Kishan had used to hold Sakae.* His movements were suggestive but firm.
Sakae did not move after Inari had released him, content to smile at the Fox God’s face. Instead, he concentrated his attention on the God’s soft lips. There was naked desire within it. Inari suspect that with the exception of Knuko, no one had ever treated the boy with respect and desire; that would be the reason why he was so vulnerable to the spell.
“I release thee,” Inari came close and breathed the words onto Sakae’s lips, just barely kissing him. “Only remember me, and call me if thoust has need of me,” Inari succumbed to temptation and kissed the boy’s lips.
The boy’s mouth devoured Inari’s as soon as they touched. There was decades, perhaps hundreds of years’ desire suppressed in that one kiss. The emotion the boy released in that kiss threatened to overwhelm Inari. He had had male and female lovers before, but none of them, mortal or not, were as exquisite as this.
“No more,” Inari breathed, finally pulling away.
Sakae too, was breathless. The boy looked so helpless, Inari forced himself to stand. Never since the first time he had laid eyes on the cub Rourke, had he felt such desire to protect something. The only child of the current Ruler of Foxes’ Caves and Inari’s chief Priestess, Rourke had proven to be both a disappointment and a joy to Inari. Rourke had fallen hard for Celeste’s daughter, the reason why he now pursued Naoko. The great-great-great-great-great-great-great granddaughter of Rourke, the child held power that Inari wanted back.
Which was the reason why he was here, almost as helples as a Mortal. That brought Inari back to where he was. He stood up abruptly. Sakae looked hurt, so Inari gave the boy his gentlest smile.
“Seek me should thy Master grow weary of thee.”
* Note, the belt was not there in some kinky scene, but was used to stop Sakae from struggling when he was being transported like a sack of potatoes from one room to another. Yes Sakae was a hostage and I shall stop it here.

[Nanowrimo 2009] The dangers of a write in Is that the plot bunnies will often creep up on you unawares. I now have three plot bunnies running around in my head. One will make it into my plot somehow. The other two will need to wait till December. One of them will be my first attempt at a Malay romance novel.
The opening line?
“Eh, tudung lah.”
I blame Calvin completely for this one.

This Controller is lounging in an armchair and keeping a sharp eye on each and every passerby. If you consider that last time eviler!Telrim came to the Nexus she wound up being giftwrapped and posted back to her own ship, it's quite understandable. Nonetheless she's relaxed, sure that there won't be a repeat of that incident. But she's not forgetting it in a hurry. "Would you trust yourself?" she asks thoughtfully. It seems relevant. Her eyes narrow for a moment, staring into space. "And how would you deal with someone who's being uncharacteristically whiny?" Hank has a question for you. He's faced a lot of resistance in his time as the Cyborg Superman, and his entire disposition has stemmed from the simple fact that (he believes) Superman wronged him so viciously. He's in his favorite chair, asking, "How long do you hold a grudge? Could you harbor ill feelings for someone forever, if they truly deserved it?" |

Now I can see How my uncle got played out by “Christians” who promised to support him financially for the home, but in the end did not fulfil their promises. I say Christians because they specifically identified themselves as Christians and made promises by that identity.
Some people whom I’ve had to work with in recent days has left me with this bad impression of whomever holds a title in my old churches. My “seniors” all seem to care far more about what other people can do for them, hiding their own inadequancies, laziness, and carelessness under a veneer of “serving God.”
They have a martyr’s mentality. The entitlement mentality also ensures the belief that they are right, and that others should bow down them because of them “sacrificing” their time. Please la.
Just because you paid us to do a job does not mean we are at your beck and call. You have no right to treat us as your slaves simply because you seem to have religion. Don’t hold us responsible for YOUR irresponsibility.
And some people wonder why I hate my religion.
Disclaimer: I’m referring specifically NOT to Protestants.

Something like a man strides into the Nexus, amid a tumult of winds and the crack of thunder. The very air around him seems to scintillate, and his stern gaze is as much of a lash as the scepter he carries. He allows a moment for his presence to be felt before he speaks. His voice, like his face, is sharply cut from the stuff of dreams: "who has been placing doors where they have no right? Someone must answer for it." |

A blindfolded J is tossing coins into a cup on a table a little way from him. More accurately, he's attempting to toss coins into a cup blindfolded, but the growing pile of coins around the cup indicates he's not being very successful. But it's not like it can hurt, and there's got to be a trick to this thing. Practice makes perfect, right? "Why..." Another metallic noise as another coin fell on the floor. "...don't you tell me three bad things about you? And... Now tell me three good things about you. Or try anyway." He smirks and aims another coin. "Alternatively, what's something you've always wanted to tell someone? In general, or someone specific, doesn't matter. Look, I'm even all blindfolded for it." A slight clink when the coin lands on the table and he frowns. "Wait, did that go in the cup?" |

The area around the Sign is much the same as it always is, except for a single moment when the air seems to flicker and tremble and then it's not. And then it is again. But judging from the man on his knees before the Sign now, it seems the Nexus has felt the need to drag a new arrival into its midst. ( Large amounts of blood and a call for any Final Fantasy-type magic. Probably a bit disturbing, hence cut. )((Despite any impressions I might have given, he's not beyond hope. It's all fixable. It'll just take some doing. But he'll be glad for any effort at all, really...
Mun might respond slowly, just so no one thinks they're being ignored.)) |

Irritation Dear clients
We have been waiting for you to send us the amendments since this morning. We have also informed you that we go home at six. We are not your slaves. Do not expect us to treat your products with the respect *you* think your products deserve if you cannot even do the same.
We should not have to chase you for YOU to keep your own deadlines. Please do not make promises you cannot keep. It’s a reflection of your own work ethics and how you handle your personal life.
We believe in your product. We truly believe that the product you have IS as good as you claim it is. However, bear in mind it’s hard not to be seen as hypocritical when you cannot deliver what YOU have promised to us.
Please, for the love of God (as far as I know you believe in that God) send us the things we need as you promised. Your flip flops only does injustice to the great product that you have.
With no love
Me.

I wish I could curse like a sailor And not have everyone wonder if there’s something wrong with me when I do. I’m a human being too, don’t tell me I’m not allowed to feel moody, bitchy, angry and murderous.
Especially the latter. F*CK you, Asus. Six months’ warranty for a battery? WHAT THE F*CK IS THIS SH*T?
Oh and the ability to flip off certain people too.

Things I love about Windows 7 I’m not ashamed to be using Windows 7 in the office. Can’t wait for the day to use Windows 7 at home and dual boot with Karmic Koala too (I admit this is mainly because I like tinkering with Karmic).
With the exception of my games (I’m not allowed to install games on the desktop in the office), I’m pretty much satisfied with my Windows 7 experience in the office. Can’t wait to go down to Low Yat next week to get my copy, since they are doing some hardcore launch there. I heard they might be selling off certain versions of Windows 7 (probably Ultimate) at 70% off. Yes I is kiasu.
So what do I like about Windows 7?
Movable programs in taskbar
Despite the fact that it’s not quite the same as in Ubuntu, I do love the taskbar. It’s much more streamlined and prettier than XP. That and I noticed that the programs opened in the order you set them on the taskbar. Cute!
Find documents in Start Menu
I know a lot of people have shouted out about this feature from the day it was introduced, but really, it can’t quite be overstated enough. I love this. It makes finding documents and programs so much more easier and faster. The only thing I have to be careful about is how I name my documents; I tend to be a very careless namer. XD
Peek-a-boo!
The preview windows feature is really helpful if you’ve got a lot of windows open. I didn’t use this much, but it’s been very helpful over the past few days as I handled more and more documents. Fun to play around with.
Themes
Despite me ranting about the themes being silly, I really do love the themes they have for Windows 7. I’m looking forward to having it on Kuro by middle of next month; it’ll be very inspiring, especially having all my inspirational quotes rotating is going to do wonders for my soul. It’s already done that in the office, and thus I look forward to seeing it on my own comp later.
Polite error messages
Just refer to this entry. I like Windows 7 for the way it tells me something has crashed.
Right side desktop button
Basically the show desktop button is on the right hand of the taskbar on the bottom, next to the clock. You can’t really miss it. It’s in a position that’s convenient and useful for me, not to mention out of the way of all my other programs.
Overall, I am looking forward to getting Windows 7. Wish me luck! [Joicie] and me are going to brave the KL evening crowds for the chance to get Windows 7.
